SUMMARY

  • The Team Leader is responsible for driving the mission of the Operations Team with guidance and supervision from the Team Leader and Group Leader. At times, the TL will act as the stand in Team Leader when the current Team Leader is unavailable.

  • They will be responsible for building engineered HVAC units and ensuring their production assembly cell is actively engaged to meet daily customer demand and production schedule.

  • The Team Leader provides effective training to the department employees and ensures safety and quality standards are always maintained.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other functions may be assigned.

  • Standard operating procedures (Standard Work)

  • Rapid improvement experiments (RIE’s)

  • Opportunity circles

  • 9-step problem solving

  • Able to perform all jobs within work area and train, assess, and coach team members.

  • Responsible for team’s rotation schedule to reduce ergonomics risks and adjust to manpower requirements.

  • Transfer and assign work within work area and relieve and replace team members as required.

  • Effectively communicate to team, outside of the team and across shifts.

  • Positively motivate team members and lead by example supporting Company values, policies and procedures.

  • Demonstrate an absolute commitment to safety and model safe behavior. Sustain performance in attitude, attendance, and ability.

  • Assure compliance with all Lean Methodologies and principles (flexing, following method sheets, TQC and Verify, DFT Certifications

  • Work in conjunction with Operations to enforce Company policies and procedures, recommending and administering coaching.

  • Responsible for working with HR to address exceptions on team members’ timecards for timely and accurate payroll processing.

  • Perform any additional duties and complete ongoing training

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • High School Diploma or GED Required

  • Two years of college or technical school; or four (4) years of related experience and/or training preferred; or equivalent combination of education/expeience.

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products preferred.

  • Familiarity with mechanical contracting, Energy Management Systems, HVAC Systems and/or Temperature Controls preferred.

  • Prior leadership experience and knowledge of team’s work processes preferred.

LA NGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

  • Valid driver's license

  • License Preferred (e.g. Certified Welder, Sheet Metal Journeyman, HVAC Journeyman, etc.), EPA Certification Preferred
