As a Materials & Logistics Supervisor you will manage inbound and outbound freight that comply to internal Logistics and Trade Compliance Policy, along with managing materials warehouse and receiving/material handler department.

Where is the work:

This position is ONSITE at our Fort Smith facility.

What you will do:

  • Manage inbound and outbound freight that comply to internal Logistics and Compliance Policy and leveraging freight consolidation.

  • Be responsible for ensuring accuracy of import and export documents application in accordance with Trane trade compliance regulations.

  • Maintain import and export, Canadian control records and reporting. Maintain facility compliance to hazardous shipment policies.

  • Manage priority shipments including research and error resolution of all shipments.

  • Manage carrier claims processes and procedures. Manage local carrier communications and relationships.

  • Manages and coordinates manufacturing and distribution activities and monitors schedule performance against plan to maintain priorities and meet established schedules.

  • Meets daily with cross-functional team to resolve delayed customer shipments, component shortages, overtime, priorities, and identified problems.

  • Works the on-time shipment daily miss report and updates the appropriate cause codes for service level reporting. Identifies and resolves problems.

  • Initiates prioritization of customer demands as a result of changes in plans or customer requirement.

  • Actively participate on cross-functional teams as they relate to improving ”customer experience”, ex tugger project, inventory flow and accuracy (Lean Manufacturing).

  • Manage receiving, and material handler team. This includes but is not limited to creating, updating, revising, and enforcing standard work instructions and operation manuals for the logistics, receiving and material handler roles, as well as BOS standards for such roles.

  • Manage daily warehousing, plant receiving and materials movement processes.

  • Perform other related duties and projects as assigned.

What you will bring:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or 4+ years of relevant work experience required.

  • 5-10 years’ experience in Logistics, specifically handling oversized loads, preferred.

  • Knowledge of Incoterms and shipment process of various mode of shipment

  • Ability to develop improvement initiative and projects.

  • Mobility within the work facility, including lifting up to 50 lbs.

  • Computer: High level proficiency in Microsoft Office such as Excel, Teams, and Outlook (should have excel skills such as VLOOKUP’s and other intermediate excel knowledge

  • Problem Solving: Uses data analysis and excellent processes to help predict problem areas, identify areas of opportunity, and update standard work.

  • Solve process issues in a timely manner by interacting with appropriate departments.

  • Working knowledge of inbound and outbound logistics, manufacturing material flow, including kanban, JIT systems, and standard work instructions

  • Maintain basic knowledge of internal processes and controls.

  • Must possess a strong customer service orientation and must provide dedicated support of internal and external customer requirements and needs.

  • Must be a strong written and verbal communicator, able to communicate to various audiences effectively.

  • Team oriented, must have the ability to work cohesively with others.

  • Must possess ability to work well in a manufacturing environment that is fast paced.

  • Must be detail-oriented and self-motivated, able to work with minimal supervision.

  • Solid interpersonal skills – ability to motivate staff and to interact with various departments throughout the organization.

  • Expertise with working with Carriers, Freight Forwarders and Vendors

Compensation: $65,000 - $85,000 Base

Our prosperous commission plans grow over time with a successful employee’s growing pipeline. Some sales professionals may eventually move to 100% commission.
