Job Summary:

Assume responsibility for the international logistics operations team and daily execution of the strategy, delivery and execution in the international logistics systems and applications. This role provides leadership and superuser support for international logistics processes and systems for internally developed applications and websites, internally hosted third-party applications and externally hosted solutions such as E2Open, 4 Kites, P44. (International operations/ systems). This position will report to Director of International Logistics lead a team of approximately 4-6 people.

This role will be Hybrid out of Davidson, NC, and required to sit on-site at least three days a week

Responsibilities:

  • Drive daily execution of logistics operations systems as the Leader of International Logistics Operations for import/export. Act as superuser/trainer/improvement owner execution/ operations systems.

  • Ensure spot quote processes are followed and optimized with cost and speed in mind.

  • Drive productivity projects by managing and optimizing lanes for the best cost, transit, and service for air, ocean, drayage, transload and trucking

  • Lead and assist with the development, implementation, and maintenance of standard work to support functional area of responsibility in and supporting the International Logistics Operation systems

  • Lead programs for the roadmap framework at the corporate level, with a focus on operational cost, quality, delivery, and sustainable processes

  • Lead centralized management of international logistic operations, partnering with parties including procurement, materials teams, trade compliance, brokers, freight forwarders, NVOCCs, and carriers.

  • Support visibility solutions that enable users to seamlessly access and share data regarding logistics cost, transit times and real-time market conditions.

  • In partnership with Procurement, track market conditions and provide alternative solutions to improve cost to serve based on evolving market conditions (manage transit & dwell of every point in process – dwell at manufacturing point, transit to port, dwell at port, ocean transit, dwell at arrival port, and final delivery points).

  • Partnership with procurement by analyzing all pieces of a door-to-door move based on cost to serve. Assume responsibility for the allocation process and forecasting.

  • Leverage cross-functional collaboration with procurement, freight bill & audit, trade compliance and more establish a clear definition of normal and abnormal conditions with KPI’s in international operations and lead with root cause analysis/resolution of abnormalities like rolled bookings, bookings acceptance, tender acceptance, on-time, etc.)

  • Support industry best practices to recommend and implement tactical solutions (process and technology) with internal clients and external service providers

  • Track international shipments and manage exceptions to ensure timely delivery

  • Partner with trade compliance related to international transaction holds, reviews and information needed to avoid supply chain disruption

  • Partner with Logistics Procurement to ensure credit is in place to avoid carrier line holds

  • Support Freight Bill, Audit and Payment process and continuous improvement

  • Support technology projects, including ocean visibility, booking or transportation management systems

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in international logistics operations, including import/export functions and international freight procurement

  • Expert understanding of Incoterms, customs formalities and rate structures for international air, ocean freight and drayage

  • Bachelor’s Degree Required

Compensation:

Salary: $95,000- $125,000 base salary. Total compensation will include an incentive.
