We are looking for an experienced Software Engineering Manager to join our team. The team you will be leading is our Home product development team. This team builds Web and mobile applications that leverage our IoT Pipeline to enable homeowners to control their smart home thermostats and associated connected smart devices.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead Technical Staff

  • Hire, develop, and supervise a team of software development professionals, ranging in seniority from Architect to Junior developers.

  • You must want to be in the day-to-day weeds with the development team.You will not have coding responsibilities, but you must be able to guide the team, help architect solutions, be able to apply judgement about "good enough" and know when to interject in implementation discussions.

  • Manage the Development Process

  • Responsible for guiding the development team methodology leveraging Agile/Scrum leading practices.

  • Provide visibility to work both in the form of progress toward goals and challenges that may be impeding progress. You must be one who demands accountability for yourself and those around you.You must foster a culture of transparency; you want the organization to have a clear picture of your teams’ progress and priorities.

  • Team Player

  • As part of the larger set of teams and organization, you lead by example when it comes to doing the right thing, even if that means it is the harder thing to do.

  • You work in partnership with the Product Owner to deliver value to our customers, with the highest quality and predictable deliveries.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.

  • 8+ years developing production software.

  • You know what design patterns are, you have used them, and you can articulate why they are important.

  • Prior software engineering leadership experience is preferred but not required.

  • You must be familiar with Linux, Ruby, Go, Redis, and database technologies.

  • You have experience writing secure code and cyber security is a core concept you help your teams focus on.

  • Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development environment.

  • Able and willing to quickly learn new technologies and master them.

Base Pay Range (for Colorado Residents): $140,000 – $190,000

Additional Compensation: Bonus
